Sorting Finances
When you separate or divorce, there may be financial issues to be resolved, including where you are going to live, how to share any assets that you have, or what monthly support is payable.
There are basic differences in how finances can be divided on divorce and how they can be divided on separation when the parties have never married. This is because different laws cover each situation.
Either way, it is usually advisable to talk to a mediator or solicitor about how your finances should be dealt with and how any agreement reached can be implemented and/or made legally binding.
